  • Shambhala Expeditions is a boutique travel company based in Hong Kong, curating small-group journeys across Asia and beyond. We focus on authentic cultural immersion, slow overland travel, and adventure routes that blend comfort with a true sense of discovery.

  • We don’t just run tours — we design expeditions. Each journey is built around storytelling, local connection, and genuine exploration. You’ll travel in small groups, stay in character-filled places, and share the road with like-minded explorers rather than tourists.

  • Our travelers are curious, open-minded, and drawn to meaningful experiences — often creatives, professionals, or seasoned travelers looking for something deeper than the usual sightseeing circuit. Age isn’t a factor; mindset is.

  • Not at all. Most expeditions are accessible to anyone in good general health. Activities like hiking, snowshoeing, or cycling are optional and guided. If a trip requires a specific fitness level, it will be clearly stated in the itinerary.

  • We keep things small — typically 8 to 12 travelers per expedition. This ensures flexibility, a more personal experience, and the chance to truly connect with your fellow explorers.

  • We aim for transparency and simplicity. Prices generally include accommodation, ground transport, guides, and most meals. International flights, visas, and travel insurance are not included unless specified. Each itinerary clearly lists what’s included.

  • Simply fill out the inquiry form on our website, and our team will get in touch with details and next steps. Once you’re ready, a deposit secures your spot, and we’ll guide you through the preparation process step by step.

  • Each expedition has its own cancellation terms, which are outlined before booking. In most cases, deposits are non-refundable but may be transferable. We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance that covers unexpected changes or cancellations.

  • We handpick stays that reflect the spirit of each destination — from boutique hotels and mountain lodges to traditional guesthouses. All are comfortable, atmospheric, and locally run wherever possible.

  • Yes. For all expeditions, travel insurance covering medical emergencies, cancellations, and trip interruptions is mandatory. It’s essential for peace of mind when traveling to remote areas.
